Kate Walker
Licensed Professional Counselor, ATR-BC
As your therapist, it is my intention to be a fellow traveler on your path towards understanding who you are and what you need. Together we will seek progress rather than perfection and work to give voice to the parts of you that have felt overlooked or unseen.

In our work together there is opportunity to utilize the creative process as a means of exploring the concepts of healing and recovery. While in an environment rooted in safety and respect, art therapy offers the opportunity to explore, express and contain the spectrum of emotions we experience as human beings that can often leave us feeling overwhelmed and disheartened. Artistic ability is not needed, as this approach celebrates the process over the product.
A little more about me:
I am a strengths-based, client-centered provider. I will work with you to identify what goals and interventions have the potential to positively impact your relationship with self and others. I will draw from Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles to meet you where you are in the therapeutic process and foster feelings of empowerment and hope.
I am a registered, board certified Art Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology from Virginia Tech and my masters in Art Therapy from The George Washington University with additional coursework in counseling and trauma-informed care. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and have worked at the residential, partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and out-patient levels of care. In addition I have experience treating a variety of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma diagnoses, and accompanying maladaptive coping skills.

Erin O'Brien
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia, Maryland and D.C.
I believe that valued change is possible and that reaching out for support is the first step. I am passionate about supporting people as they connect to their most authentic selves and create a more meaningful life. My primary focus includes working with individuals working to overcome eating disorders, anxiety and mood disturbances as well as history of trauma. I enjoy working with families and parents in both family therapy and parent coaching. I recognize that eating disorders impact the entire family and support network, and to that end, I also really enjoy meeting with parents, partners and siblings for individual therapy. I have practiced across all levels of care, including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient while serving in multiple roles, including intake coordinator, individual and family therapist.

I am currently licensed in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. I practice from a trauma informed and Health at Every Size® perspective while using interventions that are rooted in evidence based practices.
My goal is to deliver client-centered and collaborative care, working as a team with you, your family/supports and other appropriate professionals. I offer a compassionate, approachable and steady approach as I support you in identifying the valued change you want to make and provide a non-judgmental space to explore it further.

Susan’s passion projects include speaking events at middle school and high schools and educating teachers and counselors on how to safely convey nutrition and health information to children and adolescents. Susan graduated with a Bachelors in Nutrition from Radford University in 2015. She completed her dietetic internship in Asheville, North Carolina in 2016.
